Abstract

In this article the author proposes a correlation between the limitation of psychomotor excitation and the emergence of depressive affects observed during the lockdown in a 10-year-old child in a psychoanalytic family therapy setting following a traumatic bereavement, in circumstances where the father had committed suicide. This situation revived other separation experiences that had not been worked through. The boy's agitation can be understood in relation to the family dynamics and its difficulties in metabolizing experiences of loss. During the lockdown, this child was able to express affects of sadness. At the same time, his agitation was reduced and transformed into a language related to his family. The lockdown seems to have acted as a spur to symbolize experiences in relation with mourning. © ERES. Tous droits réservés pour tous pays.
