Abstract

The purpose of this study was to present a path model that can explain the suicidal ideation of low income earners who are suffering from socio-economic difficulties. The subjects of the study were 359 individuals who agreed to participate in this study among the 500 selected by the allocation sampling of all the basic livelihood recipients aged 19 years and over in the metropolitan area. The collected data were estimated using the SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0 programs. As a result, suicidal ideation showed a direct effect on suicide attitude (β =0.117, p <0.05), drinking (β =0.096, p <0.05), depression (β=0.593, p <0.001) The variance explained by all the variables influencing was 45.7%. The mediating effect of stress, depression, drinking, and suicidal attitude was found to be significant in the effect of health status on suicidal ideation. © Rushing Water Publishers Ltd. 2019.
