Abstract

This paper presents and problematizes the theses of Georges Canguilhem on the right to die, conceived as an existential right. After tracing their sources and framing them in the whole of Canguilhem's work, it analyzes some of their contradictions in order to show how a legalization and a critical value of the right to die in relation to the normative conflicts within our societies can be thinkable in line with the philosophical system of Canguilhem, albeit against his explicit opinion. © 2019, Diritto e questioni pubbliche, Palermo.
