Abstract

Suicide prevention is an important issue. Every year almost 800,000 people die by suicide worldwide, while alarmingly, many more individuals attempt to take their own life. However, despite the existence of evidence-based suicide preventive strategies, suicidal behaviours remain difficult to prevent. This overview will address some of the obstacles that arise in preventing suicide. © 2018 University of Chile. All Rights Reserved.
