Abstract

Acne vulgaris is a common condition of the skin, with high prevalence among adolescents. Besides physical impact such as the appearance of scars, acne causes psychological effects that affect the quality of life of the patient. Depression, anxiety and suicidal ideation have been the most associated psychiatric comorbidities. This article focuses on the relationship between acne and psychiatric disorders such as depression, as well as its association with isotretinoin. © 2019 Comunicaciones Cientificas Mexicanas S.A. de C.V..
