Abstract

Recent figures show the increase in suicide and warn about a malaise of current society. It is the human being who, despite its gender, age or socio-economic condition, can attempt against itself. But what is it that belongs to the human being and allows it to end its own life? By understanding that human existence is always as a relationship to itself and that this self-relation warns it about its fragility as corporeal existence, we will consider the suicide as a particular manipulation of the own fragility in order to nullify its afflictive facticity. So, we will discuss that in the ground of suicide is the human fragilty, as an existential character that allows human being to insist on living, but gives it also the occasion to persist in dying. © 2018, Universidad del Zulia.
