Abstract

By tracing the understanding of suicide through texts of the biblical, rabbinic, medieval, and modern periods, this article frames a fresh approach to assisted suicide that grows out of Jewish values, halakhic evolution and consideration of developments in contemporary medical treatment. © 2018 Penn State University Press.
