Abstract

The time that Maria Zambrano had to live was one of a torn Spain and a Europe in shadows, after the Big War Fascisms, Communism and Nazism will rise, later the drama of the Spanish Civil War, World War II, with exile a constant in her life. She confirms the eclipse of reason, that she calls "The suicide of the Western World", and its protagonist, the human hubris, that has lead to this circumstance. All the western Humanisms are adrift, and man finds himself in a situation of abandonment and solitude. © Ediciones Universidad de Salamanca.
