Abstract

With the ordinance no. 207/2018, the Italian Constitutional Court creates a new kind of decision, postponing annulment of the law (incriminating assisted suicide) after the expiration of a term and calling for the Parliament to cooperate by regulating key-aspects of the delicate subject. The paper analyses characteristics, legal effects and risks of the new form of ruling, wandering about what will happen if the deadline would expire without any activity by the legislator and finally suggesting alternative solutions. © 2018 Societa Editrice il Mulino.
