Abstract

This article suggests considering the suicidal act as a possible result of distress at work. Labour is the basic parameter for the construction of an individual and involves the entire subjectivity. It is indeed a way to sublimate the instinctual plan through symbolic recognition as well as a way to remediate vulnerabilities along with narcissistic flaws. The failure of this sublimation, bound to the modalities of noxious labour organizations such as the advocates of neo-Taylorism puts pressure on individual performance. This could be a trigger facilitating the transition to the suicidal act, by breaking the specific investment in the ego ideal, where ideal and reality are intertwined.
