Abstract

The observation that the incidence of transient ischemic attacks and cerebrovascular disease is on the rise at kannur district hospital made us evaluate the cerebral blood vessels during Medico legal autopsy. (1) The study correlates the incidence of atherosclerosis and suicide in elderly persons considering the possibility that atherosclerotic depression and dementia could be the cause and precipitating factor of the deliberate self harm. During the autopsy based study, the prosector has also observed a greater incidence and preponderance of atherosclerotic changes in the arteries of circle of Willis. © 2016, World Informations Syndicate.
