Abstract

Any clinical psychologist, a fortiori any psychoanalyst, may one day or other be confronted with the appearance of love or desire - or both - in relationship with the person being consulted. To actually resort to performing a sexual act is part of the occupational hazards, whatever their theoritical orientation. The consequences are, most of the time, harmful; but it is difficult to have an idea on the subject because making love with the treating person is still subject to a certain taboo. The author tackles the issue from evidence gathered among analysands, and from a particular angle: the ethics of psychoanalysis developed by Jacques Lacan.
