Abstract

Making a theological plea not only for the legalization of physician assisted suicide but also of active euthanasia on the basis of the principle of autonomy, Hans Küng's argumentation provokes some critical counterarguments, referring among others to the Christian idea of the divine prerogatives of the creator and the normative implications of the idea of natural death.
