Abstract

This contribution aims to place the debate on euthanasia in Germany, including assisted suicide as well as current and possible future regulations, within an overall European perspective. It outlines the main statements of the CPCE's aid to orientation «A Time to Live and a Time to Die» from 2011 regarding said topic, and names basic biblical, theological, as well as individual-, personal-, and socio-ethical aspects. This article also comments on the German parliamentary bill concerning the regulation of physician-assisted suicide as brought up for discussion by Gian Domenico Borasio, Ralf J.
