Abstract

Work may constitute one of the reasons for suicide, or even its principal contributing factor. Our goal will be to analyze nine different organizational variables using six research projects with different occupational groups in Quebec in seeking to establish which can be predictive of suicidal ideation. The choice to use the concept of suicidal ideation rests on the logic of primary prevention, as suicidal ideation constitutes the gateway to suicidal behaviors. Our results indicate that work overload and team cooperation become main factors in understanding the dynamics that establishes the emergence of suicidal ideations.
