Abstract

Elderly have the highest suicide rates and in the same time accept help only seldom. Suicide prevention in old age tries to reach persons with acute suicidality through screenings in depression and suicidality, but also with crisis intervention, psychotherapy and psychiatrical treatments. Further more groups with risk of suicide are reached especially through " gatekeeper"-trainings. Interventions on society level are concerned with the view on age and aging.
