Abstract

This paper studies the use that authors of different times do of a verse of Ovid's Metamorphoses. In this use a variant takes place that leads to believe there has been a mistake in the manuscript's transmission and that justifes the reading that does of him Garcilaso de la Vega in his second eclogue. It is a reading that the Brocense already proposes to correct but that must be left as Carlos Amorós edited it because it is a work of the own author.
