Abstract

Psychiatry has recently become interested in self-injury. Currently this behavior relates to the various psychopathologies including psychoses, personality disorders etc. Self-mutilation of the penis is rare. Through the semiotic study psychopathological and clinical cases of these three schizophrenics, the authors emphasize the kinds of psychotic mechanisms that govern the development of that act. They emerge as a clinical profile, and sociocultural risk factors supporting the need for multidisciplinary comprehensive care, to the individual in their physical and psychological dimensions.
