Abstract

A suicide pact is an agreement between two or more people to kill themselves. We are reporting a unique case of suicide pact by smothering of a family consisting of a 38 year old husband, a 34 year old wife and a 2 1/2 year old daughter wherein the wife and the daughter were smothered to death by the husband who himself attempted suicide by slashing of wrists. A partner in a suicide pact giving voluntary consent to be smothered has never been reported in the literature and hence we felt the need to report such a unique case.
