Abstract

The language of adolescents remains at the edge between the word and the thing, between the body and the thought. Adolescents indeed account for the founding function of language in mankind attesting to its origin as well as to the access to the symbolic function. This explains the frequency of physical acting out at that age, especially for girls whose bodies become the scene of those episodes of acting out: suicide attempts, scarification, eating disorders... in a way, the girl's body speaks from the depths fraying its way to self expression. it can also bear through acting a trace gradually figuring caesura between femininity and maternity, on the way to nomination. The girl may thus possibly go through the maternal body again to build her own body as a scene. The space for transference proposed by the analyst can be such a space for untangling and construction. © ERES. Tous droits réservés pour tous pays.
