Abstract

At the end of the 19th century, the hospitalization in Bordeaux of Monsieur Albert Dadas, who was unable to stop running away, was the subject of a famous medical thesis written by Dr Philippe Tissié and devoted to "mad travelers" In 1930, Pauline Herzl, the daughter of Theodor Herzl, died in the lunatic asylum in Bordeaux. Her remains and those of her brother, who committed suicide in the same city, were transferred to Jerusalem in 2006 for interment on Mount Herzl next to those of their father. © 2012 Elsevier Masson SAS.
