Abstract

Decapitation or complete severance of head from the body is imminently a fatal condition and is commonly encountered in railway accidents1. Suicide on railway tracks is a public health challenge and has been reported in urban/semi urban centers worldwide2. Those attempting suicide on the railway lines are usually affected by various social problems viz unemployment, love affairs and sexual offences etc. Railway tracks are easily available plat forms to commit suicide reach their goal of death and also used for masquerading the manner of death.
