Abstract

This paper is focused on the study of the para suicide behavior and its relationship with the women mistreatment.

OBJECTIVE: to determine how violence on women influence in their para suicide behavior, a given situation on women that belongs to six health areas of Cienfuegos municipality during the year 2009.

METHOD: an observable - descriptive study was done. The strategy for the selection of the sample was carried out through simple fortuitous variable and the sample was formed by 30 women that represented 52, 6% of all the women. A semi structured interviewed was created to collect the information based on 12 combined opened and closed questions in relation to the studied variables.

RESULTS: The results found in the identifiers variables were: young - adults women with high school level that assume the reproductive sex role, from an extensive family structure and they perceive the functioning of the family as regular. The total of the victims suffered mistreatment with a higher frequency from its pair and it is significant to say that the mix violence is on the second place. The predominant relationship of pair was domination - submission and passion as inductor conflict. They used confrontation to face the event instead of self -control, the mode directed to emotions and not to solve the conflict that contributes to the presence of negative emotional reactions that can support the adoption of self- destructive behaviors.

CONCLUSION: The violence against women is associated to the para suicide behavior.
