Abstract

Depression is characteristic with sustained depressive mood and cognitive dysfunction in the clinic, including restlessness , anhedoina, sleep disorders, guilt and repeated thoughts of suicide and so on. Depression not only damages the mentality of patients, bu also brings a heavy financial burden to patients. Based on the depression-related hypothesis: the monoamine hy-pothesis, stress hypothesis, neurotrophic factors and neurogenesis hypotheses etc., and from different mechanisms and signal pathwas, we reviewed the progress of the treatment of depression.
