Abstract

Induced carbon monoxide poisoning in attempted suicide using charcoal grills as an alternative source of carbon monoxide is increasingly being observed. Such a case is presented with special regard of the unusual situation of finding a charcoal grill in the trunk of a car. The autopsy of the 47-year-old male who committed suicide and the chemical and toxicological findings provided evidence of lethal carbon monoxide poisoning. The police investigation revealed a plausible motive for the suicide. © 2010 Springer-Verlag.
