Abstract

In this paper, I use an argumentative device suggested by Harry Frankfurt to suggest that media coverage of assisted dying and euthanasia is frequently distorted, and that that this distortion, though comprehensible and sometimes inevitable, is at least sometimes morally troubling. I shall also suggest a reason to be sceptical about the ability of media coverage to improve the quality of public debate. © The Author(s) 2011.
