Abstract

The "passage to the act" of Freud's young homosexual woman is a moment of tipping over that brings together all the elements at stake in this case. The homosexual passion which preceedes it reveals the young woman's phallic identification which arises from the disappointment caused by her position in relation to both her parents. The suicide attempt provokes the collapse of this imaginary scene, and unveils her true position: that of the object a.
