Abstract

Acts of suicide bombing cannot be fully understood with the sole utilization of psychological theories and on an individual level. In order to understand the motivation of suicide bombers, we need to comprehend the sense systems in which they live and how their acts provide them with strategic advantages and unconscious psychological benefits as a group. The impact of globalization, the consequences of suicide bombings and the unconscious mechanisms at play in suicide bombers - including on the group level - are analyzed in this article. © L'Esprit du temps.
