Abstract

The paper shows how isolation at work makes it difficult to talk about suffering in activity. First, a CHSCT (Committee for Hygiene and Safety at Work) expertise with a crew of security guards in an hospital explains how virile strategies of defence slow down the expression of empathy towards the users and lead to confrontation. Then, the author focuses on the working conditions that destroy the social link within a team in a call center who had to face a colleague's suicide. Finally, the listening of the third part is questioned as a condition to welcome statements: the frame of the intervention allows a transformation of the suffering at work.
