Abstract

The concept of addiction seems particularly interesting to understand symptoms and psychopathological organization met in eating disorders. In the addictives behaviors the symptom allows to fight against non-structured depressive affects, which are threatening the integrity of the self. Depressed symptoms as well as impulsiveness may lead these patients to suicide attempts. Those actings are more often associated with bulimia nervosa, but suicide occurs more often with anorexic patients. © 2010.
