Abstract

This article examines the process by which the Director of Public Prosecutions' recent policy on assisted suicide was prepared and considers the guidance in the broader context of prosecutorial decision-making. It explores the role of public consultation in formulating Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) policy and the significance of discretion in the prosecutor's decision-making process.
