Abstract

A suicide attempt is defined as a nonlethal, self-inflicted act with intended willingness to die. The mots found risk factors for a suicidal behaviour are interpersonal loss, interpersonal iscord, and accumulated stress. Suicide can be seen as an emergency attempt to maintain and/or restore a vulnerable and unhealthy self into internal cohesion and harmony, or only way out from damaged or even lost self. The disturbances of the self cause an individual's broken spirit and will to thrive, making the affective state flat and non expressive - inert, lifeless, empty, and vacuous. © 2009 Copyright 'Pinel' Verlag, Berlin.
