Abstract

A male aged about 35 years was found dead in his hostel accommodation with severe cut wounds on his upper neck. On examination body was found lying in prone position in front of a dressing table, on the floor, in a pool of blood. There were no other blood stains or foot prints in the room, other than the blood of the body, on the floor and spurt marks on the table and mirror. There was a pack of new razor blades and one open wrapper was found on the table top. During initial investigation the police presumed it to be case of homicide; so did the onlookers. A team of forensic experts (authors of this paper) visited and scientifically examined the spot and gave their expert opinion to solve the case.
