Abstract

The adolescence is not a disease. It is a stage of physical, psychic changes and of social relationships, during which do appear behaviours that can raise doubts with regard to normality. The differential diagnosis between normality (normal crisis of the adolescence) and the beginning of a psychopathological disorder is a most important task in the attention to the adolescent's integral health. It is important to learn how to establish the limits between the normal and the pathological thing. It is important to remember that we are on an evolutive stage of development and that, therefore, it becomes indispensable not to be in a hurry to establish a definitive diagnosis. In this work the keys of the main upheavals are reviewed, with a special attention for the necessity of a correct differential diagnosis, key for all therapeutic approach.
