Abstract

The paper considers the specific characteristics of "consumer society" that are important for criminology and deviantology, analyses the criminogenic and deviantogenic factors of consumerism and some instances of deviance (crime, organized crime, alcoholism, drug addiction, suicide, prostitution), as well as social control in consumer society.
