Abstract

Osteomyelitis caused by anaerobic organisms is unusual, and Veillonella isolated as a pure pathogen in bone culture is rare. We report the first case of Veillonella osteomyelitis in an injection drug user and highlight the importance of not relying on laboratory testing of inflammatory markers to exclude osteomyelitis.
