Abstract

Mortality by suicide of the young people (25 years and below) was on average 1.000 with the length of the second half of the 10* century. It passed below 700 during these last years. The impact of the suicide on the entourage in each situation depends on the former relation with the one who committed suicide, on the circumstances of the death and the possible brittleness of the people in mourning. The suicide is one of the prototypes of traumatic mourning which, to be difficult, are not therefore complicated or pathological although complications are always to fear. A relative stigmatization, the incomprehension of the survivors, the intensity of their guilt feelings, the depth and the length of their mourning depression are the essential characteristics. It is unthinkable that a suicide does not take place with the passing of years in an educational institution which gathers several hundreds of people, children, teenagers, adults. It is essential for everybody's and each one's mourning that the establishment reacts to this tragic event. Each adult of these structures, and particularly the chiefs of establishment, should take responsibility in preparing it. Protocols of intervention were also set up in several vice-chancellorships and school inspectorates. The European Federation Vivre son deuil holds them at your disposal. © L'Esprit du Temps.
