Abstract

Through a reading of mainly psychoanalytical texts as well as two clinical cases, we have endeavoured to engage in a reflection on the existence of a perverse nature to the act of suicide. Perversity is here understood in its moral sense and the perverse nature in question is the sado-masochistic component of the act, both on a level of the psychic economy and also in terms of narcissistic perversion.
