Abstract

Still under evaluated, violence in elderly couple includes suicides together, homicides-suicides, homicides and sexual abuses on grand-children. Risk factors are those of any intra- family violence and others specific, most of them characteristic of the caring relationship and what increases dependency or threatens spousal caregiver with breaking of cares, namely his burning out. On a psychoanalytic point of view, those factors involve the quality of representations and fantasy life. Prevention also values the ability for the aged couple of thinking about its future, in addition to detection of risk factors as caregiver's depression. © 2006, Elsevier Masson SAS.
