Abstract

The Povazie region, specifically the districts of Trencin and Nove Mesto nad Vahom, with the population of 180 000 inhabitants, has been subject to long-term monitoring, from 1952 to 2004 (53 years), of the incidents of professional and unprofessional (accidental and suicide) poisoning with respect to the cause, poison type, sex and prognosis.
