Abstract

Young male was found dead in police lockup with neck constricted in between door and cement wall at the site of closure of the door of toilet in the lock up. Finding suggests that injuries on the neck are caused by closure of the door, neck getting constricted between free border of the door and cement column of the wall. Question before the investigating officer (in this case Executive Magistrate) is to decide manner of death whether suicidal or homicidal (Accidental strangulation in the given circumstances is ruled out.
