Abstract

The Authors present and discuss the results of an epidemiological research on suicide attempts in adolescents (13-19 years) and young people (20-30 years) during 1993-2002 in Venice-Mestre area. Quantity and quality of the results, risk and protective factors, causes adduced during interviews in the hospital acute phase, psychiatric diagnosis, prevention strategies and different therapeutic interventions are examined.
