Abstract

Psychological autopsy studies revealed that 63% to 100% of all suicides were suffering from axis I disorders. In suicides, alcohol use disorders and depression are the most frequent diagnoses. Up to 62% of all suicides were diagnosed with personality disorders. Almost all axis I disorders are associated with increased suicide risk. Suicide risk is highly elevated for persons suffering from comorbidity of psychiatric disorders. © Georg Thieme Verlag Stuttgart.
