Abstract

This article is a personal reflection on setting up psychosocial programmes in contexts of overseas conflicts. It describes lessons learned about the core role of culture, working with the psycho-social link (including in preventative work) and working with translators. The author hopes this experience can enrich her practice as she returns to the UK. © The British Psychological Society 2005.
