Abstract

Barbexaclone (Maliasin®); which is an antiepileptic agent, is a compound of phenobarbital and levopropylhexedrine. We couldn't find any literature about barbexaclone intoxication. Our patient who had taken in 10 grams of barbexaclone orally to commit a suicide has classic phenobarbital intoxication symptoms. We admitted symptomatic and supportive treatment, gastric lavage, active carbon to our patients. She discharged at 9 th day of her admission. As a result we can say that acute barbexaclone intoxication can be treated with symptomatic supportive treatment.
