Abstract

The article discusses the life and works of Weldon Kees, who was a poet and artist. James Reidel's book on Kees's life is also discussed. In his book, Reidel gives his views on the vanishing act of Kees in 1955. In July, 1955, Kees's car was found parked near the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, but his body was never found. Reidel has found abundant evidence that Kees had been contemplating suicide for some while.
