Abstract

In his article published in the January 2003 edition of the Criminal Law Review, Richard Tur argued that "the DPP should formulate and publicise criteria for the exercise of his consent to prosecution in cases of assisted suicide". This article maintains that this argument is misconceived and does not reflect the true role of the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
