Abstract

This article explores Chaos theory as a potential theoretical basis for suicide research. Chaos theory can offer a new view of the mechanisms of suicide. Concepts such as nonlinearity, sensitive dependence on initial conditions, and dissipative and complex adaptive systems are discussed within the framework of current suicide research.
