Abstract

Analyses temporal variations of attempted suicides depending on day time, week day, month decade, season and other temporal parameters. The study is based on medical statistics data of heartland Russian Ivanovo city "First aid" station for 2000-2003. Intensity of suicidal attempts reaches its maximum in the evening and early nighttime, on Sundays and holidays, in the last decade of month, and in spring and summer periods. 'Intermediary role of demographic characteristics and of alcoholic variable is demonstrated for suicide attempts, and levels of suicide rates for differing periods of time are differentiated. Sociogenic character of suicide temporal cycles is argued for.
