Abstract

"She was not able to see me" says L. about her mother who appears in her dreams with a paper knife struck in her eye. The problematics of ill-loved children, the idealisation of the mother, the subject's sense of guilt due to the loss of his/her object lie at the core of the severe melancholia that L. suffers from. Being haunted by her lost object, which is both her object of love and of hatred, L. has been multiplying her suicide attempts.
